Fly near and far, across the USA and internationally. Every day flights fan out across the country and around the world for leisure travel and business, to and from airports all over. People can go places they never expected.

Almost 30,000 flights take place in the U.S. every day. And more than two million passengers travel via aircraft every 24 hours. On an average, 61,000 people are airborne over the U.S. every hour. Every day, there are approximately 200,000 flights around the world.

Depending on where you live, you may go days or weeks without seeing a plane overhead, but the skies above the U.S. are filled with airplanes. According to the FAA, there are upward of 5,000 planes in the air at any moment over the United States, and more than 8,000 flying across the globe!

The world’s busiest airport is the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, at over 96 million passengers a year. O’Hare is the busiest in the world in terms of take-offs and landings.

American Airlines is the largest airline in the world. There are six million parts in a Boeing 747.
